Since getting a copy of Mr. Ellison's work my students have devoured it causing everyone to have to work harder if they want to make my school's math team (Clarke Middle School in Lexington MA). 50-60 kids in my school own this book now and the last three years we've posted the 3 highest point totals in league history. I credit Hard Math for Middle School : IMLEM edition for our growing success. We just ordered 20 copies of the new edition for interested students. I can't recommend this book any more strongly if you are competing in IMLEM (Intermediate Math League of Eastern Massachusetts). - Josh Frost

This is one of the best biographies aimed at children that I have ever read. The main narrative is interspersed with sidebars about different historical explanations about relevant topics such as the invention of paper ranking of workers within the guild system Copernicus The illustrations by True Kelley are light-hearted accessible and they carry the text. How else do you explain a painting?

Got this pump when they installed our pool in 2000. Pump still works but the coating on electrical cord on top of pump is coming off and a safety issue. I was curious about the reviews that said their pump lasted a winter. We use several pumps for our construction company & no pump will last if it is allowed to freeze. These pumps are meant to be placed in the water & cover pumped off & then pump taken out. That is how we used ours in the winter & as I stated it lasted 8 years.
